新 iPod touch内部にカメラ用スペース発見、無線チップは802.11n対応
発売直後に分解されるのが一流ガジェットのあかし。iFixit が 新型iPod nanoに続き、高速化された上位モデルの登場以外とくに話題のなかった新型iPod touchも分解しています。基板の造形に興味があるという方はReadリンク先を見ていただくとして、気になるのは内部に3 x 3 x 6mmの空間がぽっかり空いているという指摘。iPhone 3GSのカメラモジュールは入りませんが、iPod nanoのビデオカメラなら収納できるサイズです。ここで「次期 iPod touchにはカメラ搭載か」と話題になった8月のリーク画像をもう一度見てみると、そこに映っているカメラモジュールは新iPod nanoに搭載されているものとそっくり。「カメラがないのはゲーム機だから」発言を心の底から信じていたのに、いったいこれはどういうことでしょうか。
