むかしから、体制に従順な人（カツマー）はストア派になる。キリスト教修道士とかの「メガネ優等生たち」はストア派の発想になる。現代でも「あんと れぷれなー」という奇病や、工場文化の慢性病に見られる労働規範は、たいていの場合にはストア派だろう。

エピクロス派（ひろゆき派）ってのは「このエゴむき出しの快楽主義者め！」「どうせオマイラやる気ねえだけだろ、オラ？」といわれて旗色悪い。
でもまあ、アジアでもヨーロッパでも、昔は出家なんて文化があったわけでね。そういう「脱社会宣言」の安全弁がないと、たいてい社会ってのは不味いことに なる。

なんで不味いことになるかって言うと、ストア派に嵌るのは、自己肯定を外部から競争的に獲得したい人たちだから、「社会的承認」がリソース不足に 陥ってしまう。
